1. Watch some episodes of TMNT.
For goodness sake, if you're going to write for a fandom, at least watch the show (or if you're writing about the TMNT in the comics, read the comics!). Reading fanfictions about it is not how you get to know the characters. Suppose you read absolute rubbish? Go on youtube or download some episodes, and watch it. The internet has just about anything. I would say watch it on TV, but in some places they don't really show it.
Oh, and if you do watch it, don't just watch seasons five, six or seven. They are not what TMNT is really about. Make sure you watch the first four seasons BEFORE those three, if you even want to watch the last three seasons.
